Aaaahhhhh!...Art, Books.....and FILM are what sustain me much of the time, like many..*S* There's so much utter crap out there in the theatres though, does anyone else agree?.. or am I just showing my age?
BUT, it's always a sheer delight to find a 'good' film, either on video or in the cinema.
Anyway, here's a list of my 10 favourite flicks to date (that I came up with tonight, anyways). Many are sleepers, very few if any are blockbusters. I'm not big on what Hollywood churns out most of the time. I know i'm forgetting some ..Gggrr
In no particular order;
Days of Heaven '78
Don't Look Now '73
Wings of Desire '88
Burnt by the Sun '94
The Lover '91
The Haunting '63
Betty Blue '86
Sweetie '89
The Last Emperor '87
Until the End of The World '92
Sunset Boulevard '50
um..I can't stop at ten!!!..*p* ok, couple more, indulge me *G
Drowning by Numbers '87
Apocalypse Now '79
Short Cuts '93
Life is Sweet '90
Blue Velvet '86
Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf '66
The Red Balloon '56
The Seventh Seal '56
Suspiria '77
Cinema Paradiso '88
Trois Couleurs: Bleu '93 ...etc. etc.etc
Some brilliant (in my mind) directors;
Wim Wenders, David Lynch, Robert Altman, Ingmar Bergman, Jane Campion, Peter Weir
John Cassavetes, Charlie Chaplin*G* Frances Ford Coppola, Allison Anders, David Cronenberg, Alfred Hitchcock, Peter Greenaway, Kevin Smith, Frederico Fellini, Terry Gilliam, Bill Forsyth, Mike Leigh *w*, Martin Scorsese, John Sayles....
Right, i'm done...hehee!...Please comment, add, question, rip apart, do what ya will with the above, ok? Any film/director you think i'd like or that wasn't mentioned/was blatantly omitted? (Rant, be kind*G) I'd be very curious to hear your top ten list..
Ooooooooohh, I love the movies!!! And, so many I haven't seen..... *VBG

ummm... i very very rarely watch movies... in fact i have probably not seen more than 15 or so in the last 10 years.... but there was one that i could watch over and over. a true story called Beyond the Law starring Charlie Sheen... who i normally don't care for. but he was good in this one.
